Led Zeppelin

September 30, 2007

The best and most successful band in the world, Led Zeppelin, is playing at the Dome in London on 11/26. I entered the ballot to get two tickets and if I do win I’m going. Even if that means that I’m just gonna be in the UK for 6 hrs and travel for 24 hrs. This is *the* concert if you weren’t old enough to be at Earl’s Court, Madison or any of the concerts during 1970-1976.

If I don’t win I’ll just watch “How the West Was Won”. :D

I got the Led Zeppelin III CD yesterday, ripped it today and have been listening to it over the past few hours. It’s so insanely great that I’m getting chills. Plant’s voice, Page’s guitar riffs, Bonham’s drums and Jones’ base. It’s the perfect combination of raw talent, energy and team work that comes together and just creates magic.

That’s how I see startups operate. You have a bunch of smart, passionate and energetic souls that come together in achieving a higher goal by collaboration, challenging each other and searching for excellence.

The Immigrant Song

January 15, 2007

I’ve been holding off on buying anything Led Zepplin since they are not in the iTunes store. But I can no longer hold off to rock out to one of my all-time favorite bands. Especially since I lost Led Zeppelin IV a few years ago. So today I ordered Led Zepplin III from Amazon.com so I can enjoy The Immigrant Song whilst working.

Release Names

November 18, 2006

Who doesn’t get tired of the old boring 1-dot-5 software names? Well, I did and suggested that we use our favorite (read mine) 70s rock bands in alphabetical order to name our releases from now on. I’m amazed that it caught on and here I am, on a Saturday evening, trying to find songs to match.

It’s not as painful as it seems since I’m having the great pleasure of going through my old albums and realize that I have a load of blues rock, heavy metal, symphonic rock, speed metal, fantasy rock, psychedelic rock, glam rock et cetera.

Here is the list of rock bands:
A – AC/DC
B – Black Sabbath
C – Clash
D – Deep Purple
E – ELO
F – Fleetwood Mac
G – Genesis
H – Heart
I – Iron Maiden
J – Judas Priest
K – Kiss
L – Led Zeppelin
M – Motorhead
N – Nugent
O – Ozzy
P – Pink Floyd
Q – Queen
R – Rush
S – Santana
T – Thin Lizzy
U – Uriah Heep
V – Van Morrison
W – The Who
Y – Yes
Z- ZZ Top

I’m still working through the songs to use for the release parties. Right now on E and there is a tie between Evil Woman and Rockaria.
